Friends Annual Lecture - History through the eye of a needle
Thursday 23 September  - 6.30pm
The Talk starts at 7pm and there will be a drinks reception beforehand at 6.30pm

Tracy Chevalier is the best-selling author of Girl with a Pearl Earring. Her latest novel, A Single Thread, is set in Winchester and stitches together fact and fiction surrounding our Cathedral broderers, all connected with the formation of the Friends of Winchester Cathedral.  “Fascinating”, “A Lovely Read”, “Beautifully Written”, “An Enlightening Story”  are just a few quotations from reviews of A Single Thread.  In her illustrated lecture, Tracy will give us a rare insight into how she works, her painstaking research into her literary projects, her affection for Winchester Cathedral and, of course, her love of its embroidery and the stories surrounding it.

This talk is also available via Zoom for anyone who does not want to attend in person. Please contact the box office on 01962 857275 to book.
