Parry                    I Was Glad
Elgar                    Enigma Variations
Vaughan Williams  A Sea Symphony

The Festival is delighted to welcome one of London’s great choirs for a stirring programme featuring three giants of English music from the turn of the 20th Century.  Choir and orchestra join forces for two works guaranteed to fill the Cathedral with thrilling sounds.  A rare outing for the full-scale version of Parry’s coronation anthem is paired with Vaughan Williams’ first symphony, which sets the striking poetry of Walt Whitman.  Alongside these sits Elgar’s colourful portrayal of some of his close friends. This is likely to be a popular concert so early booking is advised for the best seats.
