Outside Theatre: Macbeth
Outside Theatre: Macbeth 01/08/2014

Friday 1st August 2014, Deanery Garden Inner Close, 7pm.

A brave military hero... A noble and devoted subject... A popular leader respected by fellow Thanes and trusted by the King himself. Macbeth's outstanding qualities and achievements ensure that he has a bright future ahead of him. Three mad witches he meets after a battle confirm no less. Or, rather, two of them do. The third prophesies rather more than a rise in his fortunes: she states that he will become King himself. One brief, crazy suggestion sows a seed of ambition, causes the unravelling of a great man, and incites a chain of treachery, murder and destruction.

Doors open: 6.15pm

Tickets: Adults - £12, Children 5 - 16 - £8 plus 75p per ticket booking fee.

Outside Theatre: Pirates Of Penzance
Outside Theatre: Pirates Of Penzance 22/08/2014

Friday 22nd August, Deanery Garden Inner Close, 7pm

Gilbert and Sullivan's most popular comic opera is about Frederick, an apprentice pirate, born on 29th February, who quits the Pirate ship and falls in love with girl on land - until he learns he is contracted to the pirates until his 21st BIRTHDAY, not his 21st year. Being a steadfast Slave Of Duty, what is he to do? To denounce his piratical friends to the authorities? Or to postpone his marriage until he is 84? The show is packed with laughter, romance and a ship-full of memorable lyrics such as "To be a Pirate King!"; "Modern Major General" and "A Policeman's Lot is Not a Happy One". This wonderful operetta gets the complete Illyria treatment, faithfully performed by a reduced cast and accompanied by a Musical Director on keyboard.

Doors open: 6.15pm

Adults - £15, Children 5 - 16 - £10 plus 75p per ticket booking fee
